Sandra Vucicevic is a multidisciplinary artist of Serbian origin, who lives and works in Queens, NY. Her earliest work was published in the book of poetry and drawings - The Gate (Kapija) in 1995. She holds a B.A. in Studio Art (Painting) from Hunter College, CUNY, and a law degree from University of Belgrade, Serbia. Most recently, she was awarded a 2013 Queens Arts Fund grant for her multidimensional performance piece "BRUSH-VOTES - CREATING THE CREATOR.”
Her art explores the boundaries between the known and the unknown, the visible and the mysterious. She mixes and fuses contrasting elements, visual languages, media, and techniques in order to portray the true – complex and multi-faceted - nature of Reality. In this sense, “in-betweenness”, ambiguousness and multi-dimensionality represent the main concepts of her work.
