Internationally acclaimed Vietnamese-French artist Lebadang (1921-2015) is a painter, engraver and sculptor whose work includes drawings, paintings, lithographs and engravings with classical themes. He created sets for the Paris Opera in 1977, and was commissioned to create Jacques Ruffié's Academician's Sword.
Lebadang has been awarded many distinctions in France, the United States, England and Vietnam, including Knight of the Order of Arts and Letters in France in 1994. His work inspired Vietnamese authorities to create Lebadang Art Foundation created in 2006. In 2015 his wife, Myshu Lebadang, donated a collection of his works on paper to the Cernuschi Museum in Paris. His works are found in many private collections throughout the world.
